MPs, top graduate recruiters and some of the country’s most inspiring students joined members of the FIG team at the House of Commons last week to officially launch the new year our student enterprise scheme, the RBS ESSA.

The breakfast event, hosted by Adrian Bailey MP, Chair of the Business Innovation and Skills Select Committee, marked the third year of the nationwide scheme was chaired by FIG’s James King.

The event provided the opportunity to call on leading graduate employers and politicians to work with the programme to help identify new processes that will enable enterprising talent to be more easily identified.

Attendees included representatives from Bauer Media, Shell LiveWIRE, Virgin Media, the Association of Graduate Recruiters and Rebecca Harris MP, Conservative Party Vice Chairman Youth.

Guests heard directly from students who had participated in the RBS ESSA scheme and were agreed that participation in societies is a more effective way of fostering enterprising skills than traditional higher education courses.
